The Telfair Museum of Art houses a collection of over 4,500 works of art from around the United States and around the world. The museum is located on the corner of Barnard and Slate Streets in downtown Savannah. The museum is comprised of several buildings including the Telfair Mansion which was built in 1818 by English architect William Jay in the neoclassical Regency style and is considered to be one of the finest examples of Regency architecture in America. The "Jepson Center for the Arts" was recently constructed which houses art from the 20th and 21st century.
