Mr. Griffin, a high schoool social studies teacher from Arizona will visit his son in Rincon, GA in mid-June. While in the Savannah area, Mr. Griffin will visit historic sites, museums and also attempt to locate the graves of two Buffalo Soldiers who died in Arizona and are buried in Savannah, GA with the objective of determining if the graves are marked with veteran's headstones. The men are: Herbert L. Butler, 36 years, Seaman, died Jan. 4, 1932 in Tucson, AZ and buried in Savannah, GA 1-6-1932. William Williams, 35 years, Soldier, Co G, 25th Infantry, US Army stationed at Camp Stephen D. Little in Nogales, AZ. Died Nov. 27, 1932 and buried in Savannah, GA 12-6-1932. Another soldier- Ben H. Gibson, 28 years, Officer, US Army, died in an plane crash near Yuma, AZ on 12/25/1944. Buried in Savannah, GA 1/4/1945.
