Since 1753, The Pirate's House has been welcoming visitors to Savannah with a bounty of delicious food and drink and rousing good times. Situated a scant block from the Savannah River, The Pirate's House first opened as an inn for seafarers, and fast became a rendezvous for blood-thirsty pirates and sailors from the Seven Seas. Here seamen drank their grog and discoursed, sailor fashion, on their exotic high seas adventures from Singapore to Bombay and from London to Port Said.

Now maybe it is because it is supposed to be haunted or maybe it is just the historic aspects but this restaurant is a lot of fun to visit. We got a discount coupon for lunch and this took $2 off. There was a very nice buffet with plenty of choices. It isn't the best food we had but it was good maybe even very good in some cases and just the possibility of bumping into the ghost of Captain Flint made it worthwhile to visit. The cuisine is regional Southern and I loved the pecan chicken and the squash casserole.

This is a kid-friendly restaurant but the previous review makes it out like it is a kiddie restaurant built to resemble a pirate's house, playing off the theme made popular lately by the movies. This was a REAL pirate's house, even mentioned in Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island! It is one of the oldest houses in Georgia and a sight to see without even eating there. The food is spectacular. We knew we would only have time to have one dinner in Savannah, and my parents were right to recommend this place. I had pecan-encrusted fried chicken and my boyfriend had pecan-encrusted salmon, by far the most delicious use of the word encrusted I'd ever encountered. Our dinner was ready before we were even done with our delicious bread, and this was on a Friday night, granted,a little early (around 6:30). I can't say enough good things about the experience.

Its everything you would expect from the name. Lots of kids, they play off the pirate theme, food isnt the main focus, but it is a lot of fun for adults too. The menu is what youd expect from a popular tourist destination, over priced and nothing jaw dropping. The service has been great boths times we went, again, only for those that want a bit of interaction. Try the Artillary Punc h for an interesting alcoholic beverage, you get a skull mug with it ;)

My husband and i made it a special point to visit this particular rest. while in Savannah. We were seated promptly however, i could not tell you the quality of the food because shortly after we received our food a group of girl scouts were then seated next to us. It was hard to enjoy my meal with 25 giggling and squealing 10 yr olds in the room with us. I would have moved but we had already been served our meal. Our meal w/ a bottle of wine was well in excess of $100. When i tried to complain to the manager his attitude was hate it for you. If i want to be surrounded by 10 year olds i will eat at McD's for $10 not $100. I would NOT recommend this rest. unless you love the play area at McD's!

Went here for lunch during a fun and tiring day of touring Savannah. I am into Pirate stuff, but would never be caught dead in a them restuarant like this. We were hungry and we were standing in front of the Pirates' house, so we went in. They took us into a dark, dungen- like room and I didn't expect too much. As it turns out, the wait staff was super friendly, and the food was awesome! I had the crab cake burger and my boyfriend had the lunch buffet (southern-style food). We had a good time there saying "ARRRR" a lot and the food was great.
